Eagle Platforms are proud to announce our newly awarded IPAF ‘Sustaining Membership’, focusing on the future of our industry, and the world around us.
The Sustaining Member status is designed to recognise and sustain IPAF’s strategic initiatives and overall contribution to improving safety and productivity to our industry. As a Sustaining Member, we are committed to supporting this, as well as developing our own initiatives to ensure best practice moving forwards.
One of the main areas of focus for Eagle Platforms in the initial phase will be the streamlining of our operations to reduce our carbon-footprint, and improve our ‘green’ credentials.
The membership is the result of long-term strategic planning from the company, and is highlighted by our recent £3m investment in Electric, Hybrid & Low Emission machinery. These include the very latest machines, designed with the construction industry in mind, providing rough terrain solutions, powered by more environmentally friendly sources.
Our fleet now runs up to 41m, and includes ‘Clean Diesel’ MEWPs fitted with ‘Carbon Capture’, electric rough terrain units and diesel units with emissions reduced as low as 0.1%!
We have implemented strict procedures across the business to reduce our waste streams, and have committed to no future purchases of machinery with emissions greater than 10%, as well as reducing our waste, by implementing recycling processes with local suppliers to reduce road haulage costs and impact, as well as a reduction in the amount of waste that enters landfill.
We have also invested heavily in our fleet of vehicles, running the latest Ford Transit models, the most efficient model currently available on the market, as well all company cars being either Plug-in Hybrid or Electric vehicles. Our fleet of pick-up trucks have also been refreshed to the latest low emission diesel units, and we have plans to replace these to hybrid/electric vehicles as and when these become available.
Eagle Platforms Ltd Chairman & Founder, Jim Haigh is spearheading the campaign to become more environmentally aware;
“It is an absolute joy to us to be the first UK headquarted rental company and IPAF training centre to achieve this coveted standard. We encourage others to do the same and work together with us to help make global warming something that generations to follow will not be left to deal with alone!”
