Telehandler training
What is a Telehandler?
A telehandler, or telescopic handler is a multi-purpose machine capable of lifting, moving and placing materials. They can be fitted with different attachments to allow for the handling of a diverse range of materials.
WHY GET TELEHANDLER TRAINING?
Anyone who wants to pursue a career in construction, working on sites in the UK must be able to demonstrate competency and safety when working with telehandlers. Employers have strict regulations to comply with and as they look to reduce liability they increasingly look towards operators who hold the relevant qualifications and cards.
TRAINING WITH EAGLE PLATFORMS
Eagle Platforms offers dedicated training courses designed to ensure that delegates, once the course is completed, are able to safely operate telehandlers on site, protecting both themselves, their colleagues and increasing the efficiency and safety of operations. In terms of the specific telehandler training courses offered by Eagle Platforms, there are two main options:
DELIVERING ACROSS THE NORTH, MIDLANDS AND EAST ANGLIA!
WHAT’S INVOLVED IN THE TRAINING?
Each of these courses will allow delegates to prove that they can safely operate telehandlers on site. It will show delegates how best to drive, park, and lift and turn their telehandler as well as how to retrieve and lower loads. Delegates will also be shown how to perform the necessary safety checks.
The main difference between the courses offered is the accrediting body. Both courses are of equal quality and gravitas, so the choice will tend to come down to which sites and companies you are working with and their preference as to which they would prefer. NPORS and CPCS-accredited courses both award Red Trained Operator cards upon successful completion of their courses. These cards are valid for two years and are proof of a good level of core skills and knowledge that are able to be applied on the construction site.
