Eagle Training Academy…Let’s Work together!
Introduction
We work with skills advisors within the local authorities to draw the attention of school leavers to provide a clear career progression route with a defined learning outcome.
The pathways we offer will enhance skills, develop expertise and ensure candidates have the qualifications and behaviours needed in our industry. Whatever stage you’re at in your career – from school-leavers to qualified engineers – there’s a pathway to suit you and your career development.
Qualifications
NVQs are a ‘competence-based’ qualification, which means you learn practical, work-related tasks designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge to do a job effectively, whilst undertaking the job.
Taking an NVQ could be suitable if you already have skills and want to improve them, or if you are starting from scratch which Eagle Platforms support in your role.
Plant Mechanic
We offer NVQ Level 2 and 3 MEWP Plant Mechanic courses, for trainee engineers of 2 and 3 years duration to be paid whilst learning, and with paid leave for college attendance.
This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Plant Mechanic within the construction industry.
With over 6 previous qualified mechanics already to date, we have the knowhow to drive careers forward. We are proud to promote within, and previous qualified candidates have been promoted from yard-based engineer, to a mobile engineer and is now working as our Service Manager.
There are a number of courses completed at our depot, including;
- IPAF Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Course
- IPAF Operator Course
- IPAF Service Technician Training
Trainee Accountant
NVQ Levels 2, 3 and 4 Accountancy Courses, for trainee accountants of 2 and 3 years duration with paid leave for college attendance.
Within this department you will learn a wide range of skills from computing skills to mathematical understanding of accounting as you progress and contribute to the production of the company management accounts.
On completion of level 4, you will earn the professional qualification Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) which can be applied in many roles, with the opportunity to continue working at Eagle Platforms for the right candidate.
.
HGV Demonstrator & Driver
Eagle Platforms employ both HGV Class 1 and 2 drivers, with training provided where possible from class 2 to class 1.
To become a heavy goods vehicle HGV, you need to:
- have a full car licence
- be over 18
- get a professional driving qualification called the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence.
Currently at Eagle Platforms, we have a driver who has expressed a desire to be a class 1 driver. At the company expense this has been arranged and once qualified the driver will see a financial reward accordingly.
Our fully trained professional drivers are one of our customer facing employees and are key to offer our high customer focused benefits by ensuring they complete on time deliveries and demonstrations of our powered access platforms fleet.
Hire & Sales
Our hire desk and field sales team receive training specialising in access platforms under the IPAF umbrella, whilst ensuring they maximise every sales opportunity within their role.
With customer service being high on our agenda, all sales colleagues are provided with the necessary skills to succeed.
All colleagues working within our hire department are provided with the necessary IPAF training.
There are a number of training courses offered to our hire and sales team, including;
- IPAF Operators Course
- IPAF Site Assessment
- MEWPS for Managers
As with all aspects of Eagle Platforms, our first choice is to promote within, which is clearly demonstrated as our current Managing Director commenced work with us within a field sales role and progressed through various roles to overseeing the company to Managing Director.
